From Wood to Wonder: A Teen Entrepreneur’s Journey into CNC Milling

There’s something truly powerful about watching a dream take shape — especially when that dream is carved in wood.

This past year, my son has been building something incredible: a CNC milling business from the ground up. What started as a simple interest has grown into a passion for design, precision, and craftsmanship. With each engraved piece of wood, he’s not just shaping beautiful, meaningful creations — he’s shaping his future.

But what’s even more exciting? He’s not doing it alone.

He’s teamed up with a few other young entrepreneurs — kids with grit, creativity, and an eye for opportunity. Together, they’re learning the ins and outs of small business, working with their hands, solving problems, and supporting one another every step of the way.

Tomorrow marks a huge milestone: their very first farmers market!

They’ll be showing and selling their creations — from custom engraved signs and home decor to meaningful gifts and rustic art pieces. All made with intention, hard work, and a whole lot of heart.

We’re excited (and a little nervous) to see what this next chapter brings, but one thing’s for sure — watching kids step into leadership, take ownership, and build something real is a gift I’ll never take for granted.
